Metro Detroit’s Boulder Pointe Golf Club rebounds with record increases in online rounds and revenue through golfnow pre-paid technology

ORLANDO, Fla. (June 24, 2020) – As golf across the northern U.S. rebounds and golf clubs throughout Michigan begin to welcome back golfers in record numbers with the help of GOLFNOW pre-paid technology, Boulder Pointe Golf Club stands as a leader in metro Detroit, enjoying a record 190 percent, year-over-year increase in online rounds sold year to date.

During this time, Boulder Pointe also has seen its online revenue more than double year over year, making it the online rounds leader among golf clubs in the entire Detroit market.

A long-time GOLFNOW partner, Boulder Pointe first began posting rounds inside GOLFNOW’s industry-leading tee-time marketplace in 2013 and has incorporated additional technologies and services over the subsequent years. The golf club also utilizes GOLFNOW Reservations point-of-sale and booking engine technology, Premium Marketing Program, Answers telephone service, as well as professional guidance with inventory and revenue management through the GOLFNOW Plus service.

In order to adhere to safety protocols issued by the state of Michigan in April due to COVID-19, Boulder Pointe also began utilizing GOLFNOW’s pre-paid technology, which allows golfers to book tee times and pay online in advance.

Morgan also points to the recent Memorial Day weekend as an example of the power of pre-paid. Rounds sold online represented 67 percent of the total revenue generated by Boulder Pointe over the holiday weekend, compared to 29 percent in 2019.

(May 27, 2020) – As golf courses reopen across the state of Virginia and adjust operations to safely welcome back golfers, the Fairfax County Park Authority has partnered with GOLFNOW to connect its portfolio of eight golf courses with the millions of golfers shopping for tee times within the industry’s leading online marketplace every day. This Year’s Top 50 List Includes Eight New Courses in the Top 10; 22 New Courses Overall

GOLF Advisor has revealed its annual list of Top 50 golf courses in the United States, the website’s most-popular and most-anticipated list determined by recreational golfers who shared their reviews throughout the year with the online destination for traveling golfers.

Unlike golf course rankings published by industry insiders who have access to golf courses the public may never have the opportunity to play, the GOLF Advisor Top 50  list is totally consumer driven – by recreational golfers, for recreational golfers. Ages, handicaps and budgets of golfers using the website run the gamut, so the more than 825,000 reviews GOLF Advisor has accumulated showcase the golf course characteristics that are the most important to avid golfers across the country, like pace of play, staff friendliness and value.

What makes GOLF Advisor’s Top 50 list unique and interesting is the potential for volatility year-to-year due to changes in consumer tastes. These swings can depend on a variety of factors – anything from course conditioning to new pricing. This year’s list includes eight new courses within the top 10 that were not included last year, and 22 new courses overall.

More than 2,800 golf courses of the 144,000-plus courses reviewed on GOLF Advisor in 2018 were considered, having received the minimum 10 reviews to qualify for the Top 50.

“Reading through the reviews, we are seeing evidence of reviewers choosing to book at a golf course based on what golfers like them have to say on GOLF Advisor about the total experience,” Tucker said.

Other lists released this week include:  Top 25 Most Improved Courses; Top 25 Courses Rated by Value; Top 25 Course Layouts in the U.S.; Top 25 Courses for Staff Friendliness; Top-Rated Courses for Pace of Play; Top 25 Courses Rated by Conditions; Top 25 Courses for off-course amenities; and Top Courses by state.
